12/3/07    New Course for Spring 2008: MIME 5980/6980/8980, Engineering Analysis of Smart Material Systems. The course is scheduled for MW 11-12:15 and will be led by Dr. Mohammad Elahinia.

The course is intended for Senior Engineering students who are interested in learning about smart material systems as well as Engineering Graduate students. Prerequisites are undergraduate courses in differential equation, dynamics, and vibration.

In this course we will study the fundamental concepts behind different types of active materials. We will emphasize our discussion around current research topics in the different fields. We will also discuss engineering applications of active materials.
